Light Vehicles Sales Up 14.3% in November
Light vehicle sales in Mexico rose 14.3% year-on-year in November 2024, with 147,971 units sold, according to INEGI’s Administrative Registry of the Automotive Industry for Light Vehicles (RAIAVL). Meanwhile, vehicle production and exports continued to show growth, with manufacturing reaching 3.76 million units and exports up 2.85% for the month.
RAIAVL, which compiles data from 23 companies affiliated with AMIA and four non-affiliated companies, shows 147,971 light vehicles were sold in the domestic market in November 2024, reflecting a 14.3% increase compared to November 2023. Between January and November 2024, a total of 1,350,362 vehicles were sold in Mexico.
Production levels also saw substantial activity, with 3,764,490 light vehicles manufactured during the first 11 months of 2024, over 23.9% of the national production. Light trucks accounted for 76.1% of the total production, with the remainder consisting of passenger cars.
Export figures showed steady growth, with 289,309 light vehicles shipped in November 2024, showing a 2.85% increase when compared to the 281, 298 exported in November 2023. From January to November, exports reached 3,213,132 units, reflecting a 6.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
