Miguel Elizalde Steps Down as Executive President of ANPACT

Miguel Elizalde Lizarraga bids farewell to his role as the Executive President of the National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor-Trailer Producers (ANPACT) after over 11 years in the position.
With his departure, ANPACT acknowledged and appreciated the achievements made under Elizalde’s direction, highlighting his role in strengthening the institutional presence of the association in the automotive and transportation industries. The Board of Directors recognized his dedication, leadership, and achievements over 11 years, emphasizing his contribution to the continued success of the industry in Mexico.
Elizalde’s last day in office will be in Dec. 31, 2023. According to the association, the Board of Directors is already working on the transition to ensure the continuity of ANPACT’s leadership, while the Management Committee will temporarily assume the direction of the Association.
As the third Executive President of ANPACT, Elizalde leaves behind a legacy marked by reinforcing the institutional presence of the association in the automotive and transportation industries. Elizalde took on the role of Executive President of the National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor-Trailer Producers (ANPACT) on August 2012, following his designation in May of the same year.
Born on February 13, 1973, in Sonora, Elizalde holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) since 1997. He furthered his education with a postgraduate degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University, New York, in 2001.
His professional journey includes roles in the private sector, serving as a researcher, professor, and consultant in companies like El Concierto, Recursos, Aliados y Socios, and the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA). In the public sphere, he held positions at the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), serving as the Deputy Director of Controlled and Contracted Road Network at the Federal Roads and Bridges Commission (CAPUFE) in 2007. Later, in 2008, he collaborated as the United States-Mexico Transport Coordinator in the Undersecretariat of Transportation.
The National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor-Trailer Producers (ANPACT) represents 16 leading brands producing heavy vehicles in Mexico. The heavy vehicle industry in the country leads globally in the export of tractor-trailers, ranks fourth in exports of heavy vehicles, fifth in the production of cargo vehicles, and ninth in the production of buses. This industry generates over 28,600 direct jobs, 84,000 indirect jobs, and significantly contributes to Mexico’s manufacturing GDP with 1.3%.
