The Government of Morelos, through the State Science and Technology Council, signed a collaboration agreement with the Instituto de Posgrado en Inteligencia Artificial (IPIA) of Mexico and the IMMUNE Technology Institute, a EU technology hub based in Madrid. This agreement seeks to develop and strengthen regional capabilities in research, science, technology, and innovation, offering advanced training programs and scholarships for professionals from Morelos.

"The training of technological talent is the basis for economic development and innovation. This agreement brings world-class training to the professionals of the future and contributes to the technological growth of the region," says Juan Riva, CEO and Founder, IMMUNE Technology Institute.

The adoption of advanced technologies, such as AI, has grown significantly in Mexico. As of April 2024, 38% of companies in the country have implemented AI-based solutions to optimize their processes, says El Economista. However, the sector faces a deficit of specialized talent: 50% of companies continue to face challenges when filling vacancies related to this technology, reports Xataka.

Given this scenario, the Government of Morelos has prioritized training in key disciplines such as cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data science, strategic areas for the future of the technology labor market. The collaboration with IPIA and IMMUNE Technology Institute seeks to close this skills gap, offering master's degree programs with national and international recognition.

The agreement includes the launch of a scholarship plan aimed at citizens of Morelos, with special conditions to study programs such as the Official Master's Degree in Data Science and Business Analytics. This program, designed to train experts in Big Data, ML, and AI applied to the business environment, has double recognition, an official degree in Mexico endorsed by the Ministry of Public Education and a EU degree awarded by IMMUNE.

In addition, the scholarship plan includes financial support for training in strategic areas such as cybersecurity and cloud computing, essential disciplines for the digital transformation of companies. Those interested can apply through https://tech.immune.institute/becas-morelos.

The agreement is expected to not only benefit professionals from Morelos, but also strengthen the regional technology ecosystem, aligning with global trends that demand greater specialization in emerging technologies. Supporting this scenario, the recent study ROI of AI, conducted by IBM, says that 61% of companies globally intend to increase their investments in AI by 2025, accompanied by greater investment in cloud-managed solutions and specialized talent for the optimization of their services.
