Convenience store chain 7-Eleven Mexico recently enlisted the assistance of Blue Yonder's category management Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to optimize its operations.

The move aims to address operational deficiencies and instill the capability to craft planograms (visual representations of a store's products or services on display), according to a press release.

“We were seeking a solution that would allow us to align our commercial strategy, space management, and product availability. Blue Yonder’s category management solution offers us the ability to integrate its capabilities into our strategic, tactical, and operational processes, allowing us to communicate information and strategy effectively and efficiently throughout the organization. The solution has allowed us to see an improvement in the consumer experience,” says Gabriel Aranda, Revenue Manager, 7-Eleven Mexico.

According to Aranda, by leveraging advanced analytics capabilities expeditiously, the convenience store chain now strategically allocates space through data and analytics. This localization of assortment at the store level contributes to an improved customer shopping experience.

Tailoring each store's assortment and shelf placement based on data-driven insights will allow 7-Eleven Mexico to enhance its service. Master planograms are expected to translate to fewer stockouts, resulting in better customer satisfaction and increased sales.

As a significant player in the Mexican retail landscape, 7-Eleven operates with 1 million daily customers and a workforce of 14,000 employees, with a presence in 13 states and over 1,800 stores.
