Adidas Reports Data Breach via Third-Party
Adidas announced on Friday that an unauthorized external party accessed certain consumer data through a third-party customer service provider. The company confirmed that no passwords or credit card information were compromised.
The breach mainly involved contact information of consumers who had previously interacted with Adidas’s customer service help desk, the company said in a statement.
Upon discovering the incident, the German sportswear manufacturer took immediate steps to contain the breach and launched an investigation in collaboration with information security experts.
“Adidas is in the process of informing potentially affected consumers,” the company added.
Adidas did not disclose how many individuals may have been affected or when the breach occurred.
