Restaurant operator Alsea reported a 552.7% increase in net profit in 2Q25, reaching MX$1.025 billion, according to its financial statement released to the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV).

Total revenue rose 14.2% year over year to MX$21.35 billion. Same-store sales grew 4.9%, with gains across most brands and regions, the company said.

Alsea operates major brands such as Starbucks, Domino’s Pizza, and Vips, and recently partnered with Chipotle to bring the brand to Mexico. CEO Christian Gurría said the company is reviewing its brand portfolio to prioritize the most profitable units as part of a long-term value strategy.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose 10.5% year over year to MX$3.03 billion.

Domino’s Pizza continued to perform strongly in the quick-service segment, with same-store sales growth in both Mexico and Colombia. Starbucks Mexico also posted solid results, supported by a loyal customer base. In Europe, Starbucks showed signs of recovery, with same-store sales growth in France approaching 2023 transaction levels.

Alsea’s Full-Service Restaurant (FSR) division also recorded positive growth, driven by stronger brand penetration across markets.

Gurría thanked employees, customers, and investors and emphasized the company’s focus on becoming more agile, innovative, and customer-centric in its next phase.
