Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA) announced the appointment of Jose Antonio Fernández Garza-Lagüera as its next chief executive officer, effective Nov. 1, 2025. He now leads FEMSA Proximity and Health.
SME E-commerce in Mexico Driven 40% by Fashion, Beauty
Mexico’s e-commerce sector continues to grow, with fashion and beauty accounting for nearly 40% of online sales among SMEs, according to Tiendanube’s Mexican SME X-ray. Between January and August 2025, clothing and accessories represented 20% of online transactions, while beauty and skincare products contributed 17%. Other leading categories included toys (5%), pet products (4.3%), and sporting goods (4%).
Aplazo Teams With Conekta to Expand BNPL Payments in Mexico
BNPL platform Aplazo announced a strategic partnership with payment processor Conekta to expand digital payment options for e-commerce in Mexico. The integration will allow thousands of merchants using Conekta to offer Aplazo’s BNPL service directly at checkout, enabling consumers to purchase items and pay in installments without a credit card.
Coca-Cola Invests US$85 Million to Expand Jugos del Valle Plant
The Mexican Coca-Cola Industry (IMCC) announced a US$85 million (MX$1.5 billion) investment to expand its Jugos del Valle–Santa Clara plant in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco. The project will add two new production lines for non-carbonated beverages, juices, and nectars, enhancing production capacity and national coverage from a strategic location.
Fr8Tech Deepens Amazon Mexico Integration to Streamline Logistics
Fr8Tech, a logistics management innovation company, is strengthening its role as a logistics partner for Amazon Mexico through deeper system integration. Building on the expanded services announced in June 2024, Fr8App now connects directly with Amazon Mexico’s internal tracking system, providing enhanced real-time visibility and operational oversight.
