Bachoco, Greening Group Secure Mexico's Largest Solar Energy Deal
Grupo Bachoco and Greening Group are advancing in the construction of Mexico's largest distributed energy generation project. This strategic collaboration will see the installation of approximately 190 solar systems across 19 states, providing Grupo Bachoco with an additional 26 MW of energy capacity. The systems are expected to generate 77,000 MWh of clean energy annually.
The project, which is part of a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA), involves more than 200 solar installations. It represents the largest distributed generation contract in Mexico, solidifying Greening Group's position as a key player in the North American renewable energy market.
Ignacio Salcedo, CEO, Greening Group, highlighted the significance of this project within the company’s 2024-2026 strategic plan, which aims to strengthen its presence in Mexico and the United States. "We expect these markets to contribute 80% of our revenue by the end of this year," Salcedo stated.
This initiative not only supports Grupo Bachoco's energy independence but also aligns with Mexico's broader transition to a cleaner and more sustainable energy model. The solar installations are expected to result in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, comparable to planting over 280 trees monthly.
