Construction Sector’s Production Value Down 17.7% in July 2025

The production value of Mexico's construction sector recorded a 17.7% year-over-year contraction in July 2025, reports the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). The institute also reports a decrease of 1.3% month-over-month. 

According to INEGI’s National Survey of Construction Companies (ENEC), the annual decline in production value was accompanied by negative performance in the sector's key labor indicators. Total personnel employed decreased by 11.5% in July 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, while total hours worked fell by 13.7% year-over-year.

Compared to the previous month, the total number of personnel employed in construction companies decreased by 0.7%, and the number of hours worked saw a slight decline of 0.2%.

In contrast, real average wages paid in the sector registered an increase. Remuneration increased by 2.1% in July 2025 year-over-year and rose by 0.5% compared to the previous month.
