ENGEL Invests US$64.6 Million to Expand Operations in Queretaro
Injection molding and automation leader ENGEL is investing US$64.6 million to expand its operations in Queretaro. This expansion aims to bolster the production of high-quality injection molding machines and create 310 new jobs in the region.
“We chose Queretaro because it is the place to find, develop, and hold talent,” says Stefan Engleder, CEO, ENGEL. The acquisition of 70,000m2 of land will provide space for future growth. The decision to expand operations in Queretaro was solidified during a meeting between ENGEL representatives with Governor of Queretaro Mauricio Kuri in Vienna, Austria. Discussions during the meeting revolved around the operational status of ENGEL in the region, with particular focus on the energy projects in Queretaro. Both parties also expressed keen interest in strengthening the company's supply chain.
The project entails the manufacturing of top-notch injection molding machines, says Gerhard Stangl, Director of Human Resources, ENGEL. The company’s management highlights the company's role in shaping the future of plastics processing through the development and production of machines, technologies, and digital solutions. ENEGEL adds that it is studying the potential of Circular Economy opportunities for mold production.
ENGEL's office in Queretaro serves as a hub for services, distribution, training, and technological development. The company offers a wide range of machine concepts tailored to each application, with products ranging from 28 tons to 5,500 tons of closing force, customizable to meet individual client needs.
