For Danfoss, the "Made in Mexico" seal goes beyond displaying the emblem granted by the Ministry of Economy and which identifies products manufactured in the country, allowing them to be recognized by national and international consumers.

"Made in Mexico" is synonymous with world-class quality, a phrase backed by the talent, creativity and innovation of the producers who work in the country every day to offer competitive goods and services. This distinction fills us with pride because as producers and exporters of the ICF-20 solenoid valve, through the Danfoss label, we are reaffirming our presence in international markets.

A solenoid is a component that works through electromagnetic force and in the case of a valve, it moves its stem, causing a certain fluid to pass from one channel to another. For efficient execution, it is necessary that the physical device in question can generate its own electromagnetic field. Therefore, a solenoid valve has a coil inside it made of a conductive material that is wound in a spiral shape. When an electric current is applied, it generates the electromagnetic field that makes it possible for a solenoid to fulfill its basic function, which is the opening and closing of valve stems.

The magnetic field generated in the solenoid valve forces a given stem to move. This is necessary to allow a fluid to pass from the entrance to different directions. The content of the fluid allows the solenoid valve to acquire different types of use, although the mechanism is the same and is directly linked to the creation of an electromagnetic field that is evenly distributed inside the valve to make its strength more useful. A solenoid responds to electrical impulses, so the valve movement mechanism can be activated and controlled by programs. For this reason, it is currently very common to find this type of mechanism in different regulation systems.

Since 2019 and to meet the demand from the industrial refrigeration segment in the region, the Danfoss plant in Mexico has been given the task of producing SVL manual valves. Due to the quality with which they were produced, Mexico was selected as the headquarters for the new line of ICF Industrial Refrigeration Valve stations, which are manufactured with 100 percent Mexican inputs, using the knowledge and experiences of the national workforce. This places “Made in Mexico” at the top of the standard, meeting the highest demands of the current refrigeration industry market.

The ICF-20 valve is manufactured at the Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, plant, designed with Danish engineering that allows people to use the world's resources more intelligently and promotes the sustainable transformation of tomorrow. The workstation dedicated to this product allows safe, ergonomic and adequate handling as well as configuration and instructions guided by computers and automatic tools. The Apodaca production line has a valve station control module test station to automate processes and test the product before delivering it to the customer.

In the large valve module segment, Danfoss manufactures the ICF 50 and ICF 65 models with a computerized setup process and automatic tooling. The workstation dedicated to these models allows safe and proper handling of the product and its assembly. At the test station, we validate the operation of 100 percent of the valves, their automatic opening and closing, whether they are ICS controlled, ICLX gas operated or ICM motorized, and the results are controlled through automatic software processes. Finally, in the leak test module, the assembled valve is submerged in water and air is injected internally at 2X pressure as a maximum working metric.

In the small valve module segment, Danfoss manufactures ICF sizes 15/20/25 with the advantage of having the flexibility to build multiple configurations. All configurations, large or small, go through an automatic carcass washing process that ensures they are free of any contaminants.

Today, we are in a privileged position, with the opportunity for exponential growth and at the forefront to meet the high demand of the North American market, and in a short-term doubling our production capacity in the national market. This response from the national manufacturer places the Apodaca plant on the radar of the Danfoss group at an international level, so we can say that Danfoss Industrial Refrigeration Valves are Made in Mexico with the strictest quality standards.

Danfoss has many plans for the Industrial Refrigeration segment. Recently, it has acquired a team for the local machining of angular bodies for valves of the SVL line and one more for straight bodies is about to arrive. In addition, we will soon be assembling the line to start the production of ICS, ICM and ICLX control valves in sizes 100, 125 and 150 (4”, 5” and 6”) so we can say that what is made in Mexico is very well done.
