Motive Launches Connected Car Partnership in Latin America
Motive, a global leader in connected device lifecycle management and automation, has announced a partnership with a major operator in Central and South America to deliver seamless, secure mobile connectivity in Mexico.
“This deployment showcases the power of intelligent entitlement and provisioning. It simplifies the user experience and opens the door to scalable connected car services for any service provider, globally,” says Francisco Viana, Vice President of Sales in Latin America, Motive.
Powered by Motive’s Entitlement Server, the solution enables the carrier’s subscribers to link their mobile identities directly to their vehicles via embedded SIM (eSIM) technology, in full alignment with GSMA’s global mobile connectivity standards.
This first-of-its-kind automotive deployment in Latin America allows drivers to activate their mobile subscriptions simply by entering their vehicles, unlocking a connected experience equivalent to that of their smartphones. Whether for entertainment, navigation, or communication, users benefit from uninterrupted, secure access to their mobile services.
The Motive Entitlement Server acts as a bridge between the mobile network and the vehicle, enabling:
-
User Identity Federation: Secure linking of mobile profiles with the vehicle’s system
-
Dynamic eSIM Profile Provisioning: Real-time profile downloads and activation directly on the car’s embedded SIM
-
Session-Aware Management: User profiles activate only when the driver is using the vehicle, ideal for shared mobility applications.
The initiative will soon expand across the operator’s regional affiliates, connecting tens of millions of vehicles in the coming years. Built on Motive’s carrier-grade platform, the Entitlement Server supports secure eSIM provisioning, entitlement management, and advanced communication features such as VoLTE, VoWiFi, and Rich Communication Services (RCS), paving the way for the next generation of connected automotive experiences across Latin America.
