Nefab Expands With New Sustainable Packaging Plant in Jalisco
Nefab has doubled its manufacturing capacity in Guadalajara, Jalisco, with the opening of a new 5,400m2 plant in the Pinar industrial cluster. This facility is designed to provide sustainable packaging solutions for key sectors such as electric mobility, automotive, electronics, and data communication. When fully operational, it will generate 50 new jobs.
"This facility strengthens our ability to deliver engineered solutions tailored to customer needs. By managing the entire process in-house, we help reduce material usage, costs, and environmental impact," says Eric Wickman, Regional Managing Director for Latin America, Nefab.
The new plant specializes in thin-gauge thermoforming, producing recyclable trays and cushioning solutions that optimize primary packaging. By leveraging automatic thermoforming technology, Nefab ensures scalable production that meets the growing demand for efficient and environmentally friendly packaging solutions.
This expansion allows Nefab to integrate the entire packaging lifecycle under one roof — from design and production to recycling. Its in-house engineering team develops customized solutions that maximize material efficiency and optimize performance. Using specialized tools, the plant manufactures packaging tailored to each customer's specific needs. At the end of its lifecycle, used packaging is collected, shredded, and transformed into sheets for reuse, promoting a closed-loop recycling model.
Nefab is committed to integrating 100% recycled content into multiple materials from the outset of its processes, with plans to expand this approach across all its product lines. "Mexico is experiencing incredible growth, and Guadalajara has become a major hub for technology, manufacturing, and innovation. Expanding our capacity here allows us to be close to our customers, reducing logistics costs and improving supply chain efficiency," says Patric Vestlund, Executive Vice President for the Americas, Nefab.
This new facility complements Nefab’s existing plant in Guadalajara, which specializes in wood, plywood, corrugated cardboard, and foam packaging, as well as its plant in Leon for large-gauge thermoforming. The company also has facilities in Monterrey, Ciudad Juarez, and Chihuahua.
