Hanseatic Global Terminals has officially launched Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America, marking the company’s first regional expansion and a major milestone in its global growth strategy. The move aims to strengthen its worldwide terminal network and deliver enhanced services to the global trade community. As part of this strategic expansion, Santiago, Chile will host the company’s first regional headquarters, serving as the operational hub for both North and South America.

“I am proud to see the launch of Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America. It marks a significant step in the realization of our Strategy 2030 and our aspiration to serve our customers as a global terminal operator,” says Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO, Hanseatic Global Terminals.

Founded in 2024 as an independent entity within the Hapag-Lloyd Group, Hanseatic Global Terminals focuses on terminals and infrastructure solutions. The creation of Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America also incorporates two new Inland Services business units: Hanseatic Global Terminals Chile Logistics and Hanseatic Global Terminals Chile Extraportuarios.

Together with its port subsidiaries, these divisions will provide comprehensive port and logistics services for foreign trade across the region, reinforcing the company’s commitment to end-to-end operational excellence.

“Today, we move forward as Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America and become a vital part of a global network of terminals driving operational excellence across the Americas. We remain committed to delivering high quality service – now strengthened with access to a global network,” says Mauricio Carrasco, CEO, Hanseatic Global Terminals Latin America.

The launch is part of the company’s Strategy 2030, which aims to expand from 21 to about 30 terminals globally and solidify its position as a key global player in the terminal industry.
