This are trying times for every person, family, company or industry in the world. Reactions from everyone need to be quick to minimize the potential impact of this crisis.

The manufacturing industry has faced complications that led to added costs and sometimes even shortages. It has become very important for companies to have a quick strategy to remain competitive but also to contribute to the overall situation.

Companies like Inditex, Mango and Huawei where the first to restructure their work activities as they foresaw future complications with supplies and staff. To keep their business active, these companies decided to produce supplies that could be beneficial for the population. Things like medical ropes, facemasks and individual protection equipment are among the products that companies rushed to produce.

Amancio Ortega's company started the production of sterile gowns and organized shipments from factories in China of 300,000 surgical masks and 75,000 individual protective equipment, in addition to making itself available to the government for transportation and logistics functions.

Solidarity is the latest trend among manufacturing companies. We see it with these companies and we see it with Ford and General Motors from the automotive industry producing ventilators. Renault Spain launched the ‘Renault to the Rescue’ initiative, destining all 3D printers to manufacturing face masks. At the moment they have already distributed more than 2,000 units around different parts of Spain. Companies like Continental have used their 3D printers to make protective screens to cover the entire face of medical and nursing staff. Meanwhile giants of the industry like Land Rover, Ford, FCA Spain and Hyundai have put their fleets of vehicles at the disposal of the Red Cross and health institutions to help workers that require transportation. On the other hand, about a couple of weeks ago, the company Naturgy has started to offer free energy to all hotels that have volunteered to take in patients.
