CIMMGM Elects New National Board for 2025-2027

The College of Mining, Metallurgical, and Geological Engineers (CIMMGM) announced the election of its National Board for the 2025-2027 period. The newly appointed board will oversee efforts to strengthen collaboration across government, academia, and industry while promoting sustainable and responsible mining practices, the college says.

During a general assembly, the college elected Raúl García as President and Armando Alatorre as Vice President. The Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer positions will be held by Carlos Palomino and Graciela Mendoza, respectively.

The board also includes Alejandro Cano as the First Proprietary Secretary and Betsabé Escobedo as the Second Proprietary Secretary. Miguel Ángel Soto and José de Jesús will serve as Substitute Secretaries.

CIMMGM highlights its commitment to collaborating with government entities, universities, and related associations to promote clean, safe, and community-inclusive mining practices. The board also highlights its role in geotechnics and civil protection, aiming to support professionals in the Earth Sciences. "Our association is committed to promoting responsible mining that complies with current regulations and adheres to the best environmental and social practices,” reads CIMMGM’s press release.
