Luis Medina Nominated CANCHAM Mining Commission President

CANCHAM nominated Luis Felipe Medina as the new President for the Commission on Mining. With a 29-year career in the mining industry, Medina brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

Medina, who also serves as Director General at Agnico Eagle-Teck Resources’ Minas de San Nicolas, has an engineering degree in Ecology from the State University of Sonora and has completed postgraduate studies at Harvard Business School. Over 29 years, he has contributed to the development of nine mines in Mexico, participating in all stages, from exploration to closure. In 2017, he was recognized as one of Mexico's Top 10 business leaders by Great Place to Work.

CANCHAM noted Medina has held various roles in the mining sector, including President of the Chihuahua Mining Cluster, Administrative Vice President of AIMMGM, and President of the XXXI International Mining Convention. Additionally, he has served as Treasurer of the Sonora Mining Cluster and as a member of the Board of Directors of CAMIMEX, CANCHAM Mexico, and Nacional Financiera in Chihuahua.
