Supply chain solutions leader CEVA Logistics has significantly strengthened its presence in the finished vehicle logistics (FVL) market with the expansion of its deep-sea car carrier operations. The company has introduced a new regular trade lane and expanded spot services connecting the Far East with Central and South America.

“With end-to-end solutions from factory to dealer, this expansion of our roll-on, roll-off (RORO) vessel fleet directly reflects the value we offer our customers. The additional vessels allow us to provide both reliability and flexibility through our new regular trade lane rotation and our global spot solutions,” says Emmanuel Cheremetinski, Global FVL Leader, CEVA Logistics.

This strategic move is enabled by the addition of three RORO vessels, each with a capacity ranging from 5,500 to 7,000 car equivalent units (CEUs). These vessels enhance CEVA’s global RORO capabilities, allowing the company to offer more reliable and flexible shipping options for the automotive industry.

The newly launched service provides consistent and efficient maritime connections between major automotive production hubs in China, South Korea, and Japan and key import markets across Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. By linking these strategic ports, CEVA Logistics is positioned to support increasing vehicle demand across Latin America with regular and spot shipments.

With this expansion, CEVA Logistics now operates a fleet of nine deep-sea and short-sea vessels serving four major global trade lanes. The logistics provider initially entered the deep-sea segment in 2023 through a 10-year lease agreement with CMA CGM for four LNG dual-fuel hybrid vessels from Eastern Pacific Shipping. The latest fleet additions are equipped with advanced lift decks, allowing the transport of a diverse range of vehicles — from passenger cars and vans to heavy trucks, construction equipment, and oversized cargo.

Since the launch of its RORO services, CEVA Logistics has moved over 225,000 vehicles and high and heavy equipment globally. In 2024 alone, the company transported over 6.1 million vehicles through its comprehensive FVL solutions.

In the new Far East-Latin America corridor, CEVA Logistics’ network of land-side assets and vehicle compounds in Central and South America aims to ensure seamless handoffs and direct distribution into automakers’ supply chains or dealership networks.
