FEMSA, a prominent player in Mexico’s retail, logistics, and beverage sectors, has reached a definitive agreement to sell part of its logistics operations under the Solistica brand to Grupo Traxión, one of Mexico’s leading transportation and logistics companies. This move marks a significant step in FEMSA’s broader restructuring plan, known as FEMSA Forward, announced in early 2023.

The transaction, valued at about MX$4.06 billion (US$208.08 million) to be paid in cash and debt, includes Solistica’s transportation management operations in Mexico, as well as contract logistics services in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia. FEMSA’s less-than-truckload (LTL) operations in Brazil will remain outside the scope of this deal.

This decision aligns with FEMSA’s plan to streamline its business portfolio and focus on its core competencies. The FEMSA Forward plan aims to enhance the company’s operational efficiency, capital allocation, and long-term value creation by gradually divesting non-core assets.

The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions, with the transaction expected to close in the coming months. For Grupo Traxión, this acquisition strengthens its position in the logistics market across Latin America, expanding its footprint and service offerings in key markets.
