Global logistics, maritime, and supply chain solutions provider Crowley intermodal will launch its Mexico Gulf Express service, with the first sailing set for May 16. This ocean-rail solution is designed to optimize cargo movement between Mexico, the US Midwest, and Canada, offering an efficient and sustainable alternative while bypassing inland congestion.

By combining a rapid three-day ocean transit from Tuxpan, Veracruz, to Gulfport, Mississippi, with Canadian National Railway’s (CN) extensive inland rail network, Crowley will provide a seamless supply chain alternative, enhancing speed, reliability, and connectivity. This service expansion aims to strengthen its commitment to delivering integrated containerized solutions tailored to customer needs.

The Mexico Gulf Express will offer weekly sailings between Tuxpan and Gulfport, featuring a comprehensive container fleet, including reefers for temperature-sensitive goods, and provides versatile cargo handling for shipments of all sizes and types. To streamline operations, the service includes customs brokerage services for efficient processing, end-to-end trucking solutions connecting door origins in Mexico and the Port of Tuxpan, and intermodal transport from Gulfport to final destinations across the United States and Canada.

Additionally, Crowley continues to operate scheduled ocean cargo services between US ports and Central America and the Caribbean, further strengthening its logistics network. Once cargo arrives in Gulfport, it transitions seamlessly onto CN’s rail system, reaching destinations across the US Midwest and Canada with minimal delays. This intermodal approach reduces dependency on congested road freight routes and minimizes cross-border bottlenecks, providing a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative.

The Mexico Gulf Express service is set to redefine cross-border logistics by integrating ocean and rail transport into a streamlined, efficient network. By reducing transit times and optimizing cargo movement, Crowley’s latest initiative supports businesses looking for faster, more sustainable, and more reliable supply chain solutions between Mexico, the United States, and Canada, ensuring faster deliveries, enhanced connectivity, and reduced logistical challenges.
