Minister of Economy of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú, has unveiled a new strategy to enhance the promotion of the state’s competitive advantages in foreign trade, including its privileged geographic location, robust infrastructure, and regional competitiveness.

“The ‘Tamaulipas, Plataforma Logística de México’ program we present today has a clear goal: to position our state as the primary option for export and import companies in the country as their platform for foreign trade,” says Cantú.

Cantú emphasizes that one of the top economic priorities of Tamaulipas’ Governor Américo Villarreal is to encourage more businesses to take advantage of the state’s unique geographic and infrastructural strengths.

The strategy includes a comprehensive communication and economic promotion plan, with public and private sector participation in both national and international forums. This integrated approach aims to highlight Tamaulipas’ strengths and foster continued growth and investment in the region’s logistics capabilities.

The Mayors of Tampico, Altamira, and Ciudad Madero agree on the need for cooperation between local governments, the state, and businesses. They commit to work as a unified region to seize development opportunities and enhance the region’s economic potential.

Business leaders from the logistics sector also acknowledged the importance of collaboration to solidify Tamaulipas’ reputation as one of North America’s most competitive regions, especially in the context of nearshoring, where companies are relocating operations closer to the United States.
