PEMEX Recovers 2.7 Million Liters of Oil Following Veracruz Leak
PEMEX has recovered 2.73 million L of hydrocarbons across 10 strategic points along the Pantepec River and its tributaries, following a leak in the 30-inch Poza Rica-Madero pipeline located in the municipality of Álamo Temapache, Veracruz.
As part of ongoing remediation efforts, PEMEX reported the distribution of 543 food packages, 3,729 bottles of water, and the delivery of potable water through three 45,000L tank trucks. To date, a total of 10,843 food packages, 781 water tanks, 29,698 bottles of water, 24 truckloads of potable water, and 1,301kg of pet food have been provided to residents in affected areas.
Unionized and management personnel from PEMEX have also carried out the cleaning of mud sediments in 24 homes. The state oil company stated that it continues to coordinate cleanup and social assistance efforts to ensure the safety of local communities and mitigate environmental impacts in the region.
