PEMEX, in coordination with federal and state authorities, seized more than 18 million L of illicit fuel in two operations carried out in Mexico. The confiscated fuel, valued at approximately MX$432 million (US$21.266 million), was intercepted in Tampico, Tamaulipas, and Ensenada, Baja California.

In the first operation, authorities secured a vessel carrying 10 million L of diesel at the Port of Tampico. In Ensenada, 8 million L of hydrocarbons were confiscated after being illegally transported into the country via maritime routes.

PEMEX has implemented preventive and corrective measures to protect its infrastructure and energy products. These include laboratory verification of fuel quality, monitoring of transportation infrastructure, and continuous surveillance of systems and pipelines. The company is also working closely with authorities through intelligence-sharing to enhance the effectiveness of enforcement operations.

PEMEX stated that it will continue taking decisive actions to combat fuel theft and urged the public to report illegal activities anonymously via the hotline 800 228 96 60 or by email at vigilante@PEMEX.com.
