People Demand Stronger Action on Climate Crisis: UNDP
Eighty percent of people worldwide want stronger government action to tackle the climate crisis, according to the "People’s Climate Vote" survey by the UNDP. The survey, which included over 73,000 respondents from 77 countries, found significant support for enhanced climate efforts, particularly in the world's largest greenhouse gas emitters and among women in certain developed nations. Additionally, 72% of respondents globally favor a rapid transition away from fossil fuels, with a striking consensus on international cooperation to address climate change despite current global conflicts.
CMIC Calls to Improve Urban Mobility in Mexico
The Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) has called for public policies to improve urban mobility infrastructure, emphasizing the need for better integration of urban planning, economic development, and sustainable mobility. Luis Méndez, President, CMIC, highlighted Mexico's issues with rapid, unorganized urban growth and the over-reliance on private vehicles, which has led to significant mobility problems and high transportation costs. The organization proposed 10 measures to promote sustainable urban mobility, including increased investment in public transport, improved infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, and the implementation of congestion charges to fund public transport improvements.

Deloitte’s report The Important Role of Leaders in Advancing Human Sustainability, highlights the growing imperative for corporate leaders to prioritize human sustainability, driven by stakeholder pressures across employees, customers, investors, partners, and board members. With 82% of C-suite executives feeling compelled to publicly commit to enhancing human sustainability metrics, the survey underscores a significant shift in corporate priorities and accountability. Despite aspirations, there is a notable gap between executive perceptions and workforce realities, emphasizing the need for organizations to align corporate goals with employee experiences to foster inclusive and purpose-driven workplaces.
