Welfare Pension Fund. Héctor Santana, Director, Insurance, Pensions, and Social Security Unit at the Ministry of Finance, has announced that the initial allocation for the Welfare Pension Fund will be MX$44.894 million (US$2.2 billion).

In April, MORENA's pension reform was approved, which aims to transfer pensions from inactive accounts of people over 70 years of age to the Welfare Pension Fund. Although the government has stated that former beneficiaries will have the option to reclaim their resources, the specific process remains unspecified. Legislators from PAN, PRI, and PRD have initiated legal action against the Welfare Pension Fund, raising concerns about potential violations of workers' rights and pointing out ambiguities in the reform.

Claudia Sheinbaum. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that Mexico will experience a peaceful government transition, emphasizing Claudia Sheinbaum's alignment with MORENA's ideals.

So far, Sheinbaum has unveiled a total of 12 ministers, reflecting the continuity of MORENA ideals but also presenting a moderate approach in her administration.  The appointment of the new cabinet members, especially Marcelo Ebrard as the new Minister of Economy, has brought certainty and confidence to both investors and international markets. However, confidence levels have not yet returned to those seen before the election.

Wall Street Scandal. López Obrador criticized the Wall Street Journal for implying that he, rather than Claudia Sheinbaum, would govern during the next six-year term, arguing that such a suggestion is disrespectful to her and to women in general. He questioned the editorial's credibility, stating, "What kind of serious journalism is it to assert in an editorial that I will continue to wield power behind the scenes? It demonstrates a lack of respect for Claudia and for women."
