DHL Express Mexico has begun deploying a new fleet of JAC Sunray Cargo Euro 6 vehicles as part of an US$84 million investment to strengthen the efficiency and sustainability of its national operations. The first units delivered form part of a broader agreement covering 1,002 vehicles supplied by JAC and distributor Grupo Andrade.

Antonio Arranz, CEO, DHL Express Mexico, described the delivery as “graduation day,” noting that the vehicles passed the company’s testing requirements before approval. “We sell high quality and cannot have suppliers who do not meet the standards our customers deserve,” he said.

The Euro 6 technology incorporated into the initial 81 units is designed to reduce emissions and modernize DHL’s logistics fleet. The company said the full rollout will support cleaner last-mile delivery while improving operational performance along high-demand routes.

Elías Masrri, CEO, Giant Motors Latin America (GML), the parent company of JAC Mexico, said the alliance highlights collaboration between a global logistics operator and a Mexican automotive manufacturer that designs, assembles and supports its vehicle lineup at its Ciudad Sahagún plant in the state of Hidalgo. “Each unit we deliver represents jobs, development and a commitment to Mexico,” he said, adding that the partnership is expected to expand over time.

Miguel Ángel Iglesias, head, Grupo Andrade’s automotive division, said the transaction validates both the quality of the vehicles and the capacity of the distributor network. He noted that the agreement signals a shared commitment to more sustainable mobility solutions.

Isidoro Massri, director, JAC Mexico, said the collaboration reinforces Mexico’s position as a strategic hub for industrial development. He emphasized that long-term service capabilities and after-sales support will be central to JAC’s role in the project.

Earlier this year, at the third edition of the Cumbre Imagen Sostenibilidad 2025, JAC outlined its plans to expand its electric and hybrid vehicle portfolio in Mexico. Vania Terrones, JAC’s electric vehicle manager, announced that the company will add a new production line dedicated to EVs and hybrids, increasing production capacity by 12,000 units per year.
