Telefonica Movistar México has obtained its seventh recertification under the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) standard, reinforcing its commitment to responsible environmental management and continuous improvement in sustainability practices.

Since its first certification in 2004, the company has operated for 21 years under this international standard, strengthening its culture of compliance, prevention, and verifiable environmental performance.

The ISO 14001:2015 standard establishes the requirements for implementing an effective Environmental Management System, designed to help organizations identify, control, and reduce the environmental impact of their operations. The certification is valid for three years and requires regular recertification processes to ensure ongoing improvement in environmental performance.

“Obtaining ISO 14001:2015 certification means much more than meeting a standard; it demonstrates that our environmental management is tangible, measurable, and verifiable. At Telefonica Movistar México, we believe that sustainability must be integrated across every decision and process of the business,” said Natalia Guerra, Director of Public Affairs, Regulation, and Wholesale Business, Telefónica Movistar México.

In 2025, the company reinforced its environmental commitments through actions focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and circular economy initiatives. These include optimizing electricity consumption, using renewable energy sources, and promoting the recovery and reuse of technological materials through its VEMA program. The initiatives aim to support a more sustainable and responsible digitalization that contributes positively to both society and the planet.
