ABB Advances Female Leadership Programs in Mexico
ABB, a global provider of electrification and automation technologies, strengthened its diversity and inclusion strategy through its participation in the 2025 Swiss Women Leaders Forum.
“Beyond investment, the most important thing is to create support networks and collaboration between women of different generations,” says Gabriela García, Communication Head, ABB Mexico, during the panel “Intergenerational Female Leadership.”
The company introduced some programs designed to increase opportunities for women, particularly in senior management positions. The initiatives include ABB’s Global Women Leadership program, aimed at preparing female talent to take on key roles. ABB has set a target for women to hold 25% of global leadership positions by 2030, up from the current 22%. In Mexico, the company operates the ABB Next Gen program, which engages secondary, vocational and high school students to encourage careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). The program includes talks and networking with female company leaders to broaden professional perspectives in technology sectors.
Robotics and innovative technologies form part of ABB’s strategy for joint projects with the education sector. The company views these partnerships as an opportunity to align technical training with labor market demands.
