Buk’s "Work in Progress 2024" survey identified significant gaps in employee satisfaction in Mexico, underscoring the need for HR departments to reevaluate their strategies. The survey included over 3,000 employees from Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Mexico, and found that Mexican employees report the lowest satisfaction levels in key experience areas.

In Mexico, only 40% of non-HR employees expressed satisfaction with onboarding processes, a stark contrast to the 59% satisfaction reported by HR personnel. Furthermore, Mexican employees reported lower satisfaction across six of the seven evaluated experience factors, particularly in professional development and recognition practices.

The report underscores that employee experience encompasses all interactions a person has with their organization, from recruitment to their final days. A well-structured employee experience aligns individual motivations with organizational goals, ultimately benefiting performance and retention.

The study found that HR professionals reported lower satisfaction with their development and recognition compared to their colleagues in other departments. For example, only 45% of HR staff are satisfied with professional development opportunities, while 52% of non-HR employees feel similarly.

While 84% of employees report that they are paid on time, matters such as workplace culture and communication require attention. Less than 60% of employees across the board are satisfied with the promotion of a positive work environment and the flow of information between staff and management.

To improve satisfaction, organizations can use tools and processes that streamline administrative tasks, says Buk, enabling HR teams to focus on strategic initiatives that foster employee well-being. Automating recruitment and selection processes can free up resources, allowing HR to cultivate a more supportive workplace culture, adds the company.
