Salesforce Inaugurates Largest Latin American HQ in Mexico City

Salesforce inaugurated its new corporate offices in Mexico City, reinforcing its commitment to the region and its strategy to help customers become "Agentic Companies." The headquarters, located in the Miyana II building in Polanco, are the company's largest in Latin America, covering 192,000ft2 over five floors, with a capacity for up to 2,000 employees.

"The first metric is making sure we are supporting and enhancing the business," says Relina Bulchandani, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Workplace Services, Salesforce, to MBN. "We ensure that our team can thrive in Mexico City by providing them a strategic and accessible location, while bringing comfortable, tailored facilities for each of their specific necessities."

The headquarters now house the company's second largest Global Delivery Center (GDC), surpassed only by its facilities in India. This GDC is fundamental for operations, providing consulting, technical, and customer success services in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. It now supports clients like Globo, Grupo Falabella, and Protección in their digital transformations, while covering the Americas time zone.

Bulchandani says that the decision to select Miyana II was based on logistical convenience for the company's three pillars: employees, customers, and partners. Proximity to other corporate headquarters, access to public transportation, and the density of services in the area were determinant factors.

An Intentional Design: The "Network of Spaces"

The internal design moves away from the traditional office model and adopts a "Network of Spaces" philosophy, an intentional approach based on studying post-pandemic work patterns. The company observed in its temporary spaces a high demand for conference rooms and collaboration spaces.

The result is vertical zoning that transitions from social to focused work:

  • Social and Training Zones: One entire floor is dedicated to social interaction and upskilling. It includes a “barista,” a large outdoor social lounge, and flexible training rooms. This floor is acoustically designed to be the loudest area, allowing collaboration and events without disrupting focused work.

  • Hybrid Work Zones: The upper floors are designed with a "louder to quieter" approach. Areas near pantries and social lounges are designed to encourage interaction, while moving deeper into the floor plate favors individual work.

  • Diversity of Spaces: The design completely eliminates corner executive offices; all-natural light and perimeter views are allocated to employees. The space comprises a mix of desks, conference rooms of various sizes, board rooms, and individual acoustic "Framery booths."

The new headquarters holds LEED Gold certification. The space features healthy and sustainable materials, including carbon-neutral carpets made from 100% recycled nylon from recovered fishing nets.

A critical B2B component of the project was the shift in procurement. Gordon L'Estrange, Vice President of Global Real Estate, Project Design, and Delivery, Salesforce, explains that the company migrated from global supply agreements to a local sourcing approach in Mexico. This decision followed disruptions in global supply chains. By opting for local manufacturers for furniture and materials, Salesforce mitigates logistical risks and supports the local manufacturing economy.

This expansion is part of Salesforce’s plans for Mexico, as the company aims to accelerate the transformation of local clients like FEMSA, CYMAQ, and Grupo Bafar. Salesforce also announced a US$250,000 donation to Amigos de Filantrofilia to help 100,000 Mexican students acquire AI skills. Additionally, a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity Mexico was established, to which the local office will dedicate 10% of its volunteer hours.
