Siemens Inaugurates MX$940 Million Plant in Queretaro

Siemens has inaugurated the Kaizen plant in Queretaro, investing MX$940 million (US$53.2 million) to enhance its production of energy distribution solutions. This investment aims to boost Siemens' production capacity and sustainability strategy in Mexico and North America.

Spread over five years, this investment will double production capacity, optimize delivery times, and strengthen Siemens' decarbonization strategy. The company plans to develop new energy distribution solutions for various industries, focusing on automotive, aerospace, residential, and food and beverage sectors, according to a press release.

Judith Wiese, Siemens AG's Chief People and Sustainability Officer, stated, "Kaizen is a testament to Siemens' commitment to innovation, excellence, and sustainability across various industries in the country." She highlighted Mexico's strong manufacturing base and favorable business environment as key factors for this investment.

"The inauguration of Kaizen represents not only an operational expansion, but also a step towards a more sustainable future, underlining that the agreement between Querétaro, Siemens and Estanium at COP 28 to reduce carbon emissions through the implementation of Siemens' SiGreen technology," said Alejandro Preinfalk, CEO, Siemens Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

The inauguration of Kaizen by Siemens in Queretaro marks a significant advancement in the company's production capacity and energy efficiency. According to the press release, this investment will strengthen Siemens' position in the medium and low voltage energy market and contribute to economic development and job creation in the region.
