Mexico's Journey Through the AI Revolution

Amid the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), for both good and bad, Mexico must enact clear policies to guide the intentional development and integration of AI, according to industry experts at the event "Never Ending Evolution: AI," organized by Needed Education. This is fundamental to ensuring that AI is developed to address fundamental social needs, is strategically integrated into business models, and prioritizes employee motivation to effectively leverage this technology, acknowledging their pivotal role in its successful implementation.

 

LG and Meta Unite to Push XR Technology 

LG and Meta have strengthened their partnership to enhance their extended reality (XR) projects. This collaboration, born in the middle of last year, aims to ensure the development of disruptive technologies in line with LG's Future Vision 2030 and the growth of its newly established XR business unit.

 

Karma3 Labs Raises US$4.5 million for Web3 Development

Karma3 Labs closed a US$4.5 million seed round for the development of OpenRank, a Web3 decentralized reputation protocol. The round was led by Galaxy and IDEO CoLab Ventures, but also included other investors such as Spartan, SevenX, HashKey, among others. The capital will be used toward growing OpenRank’s adoption and helping launch the protocol’s initial version to developers.

 

EU Fines Apple US$2 Billion for Restrictions, Unfair Revenue

The city of Brussels, represented by the European Union (EU), fined Apple US$ 2 billion for frustrating music streaming competition on its App Store using restrictions and unfair revenue schemes. Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, ordered Apple to remove such restrictions from its App Store by March 7 under the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
