Aeroméxico has lost its position as the world’s most punctual airline in Cirium’s latest global On-Time Performance (OTP) ranking for August 2025. After leading the ranking in July, the Mexican carrier slipped to second place with an OTP of 87.63%.

According to Cirium’s monthly data, Aeroméxico operated 16,144 flights in August, of which 99.90% were tracked and 98.33% were completed without cancellations. Despite this strong operational consistency, it was surpassed by Brazil’s Azul Linhas Aéreas, which led the ranking with a 92.15% OTP. Scandinavian carrier SAS placed third with 87.20%.

In the Latin America regional ranking, Azul also claimed the top spot, followed by Copa Airlines (90.71%), Gol Linhas Aéreas (90.10%), and Aeroméxico in fourth. LATAM and Volaris rounded out the top six, with OTPs of 83.84% and 83.48%, respectively.

Cirium defines OTP as the percentage of flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. The rankings are based on tracked flights and exclude those with insufficient data or delays caused by weather or factors beyond the carrier’s control.
