SENER will host two consultation forums on Jan. 13 and 14, in collaboration with the governments of Tamaulipas and Baja California, as part of the development process for Mexico's 2025-2030 National Development Plan (PND). The forums aim to gather public input for the guiding document that will define Mexico's economic, energy, social, and environmental priorities for the next six years.

The first forum will take place on Jan. 13 in Tampico, Tamaulipas, at the Convention and Exhibition Center (Expo Tampico). The second will follow on Jan. 14 in Mexicali, Baja California, at the Auka Room of the State Center for the Arts (CEART). Both events will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Five working groups will address topics including sustainable energy planning, energy justice and fair pricing, energy efficiency, climate change and transition, hydrocarbons and petrochemicals, and the development of the national electricity sector. A sixth group will collect input on other topics related to the PND.

The forums will be attended by public officials and local authorities, including Minister of Energy Luz Elena González and the governors of Tamaulipas and Baja California, Américo Villarreal and Marina del Pilar Avila, respectively. Other key participants will include José Antonio Rojas, Deputy Minister of Electricity; Juan José Vidal, Deputy Minister of Hydrocarbons; Emilia Calleja, Director General, CFE; and Jorge Marcial Islas, Deputy Minister of Planning and Energy Transition.

SENER has extended the invitation to a wide range of groups, including labor organizations, indigenous communities, academic institutions, business groups, women, youth, older adults, people with disabilities, and the general public.
