This shift follows the recent remodeling and expansion of the Port of Guaymas, enabling large cargo ship access, reducing operating costs, and minimizing road transport risks.
SSA Marine Mexico Invests MX$197 Million for Port Expansion
SSA Marine Mexico is set to invest MX$197 million to expand vehicle storage capacities at the Port of Lazaro Cardenas. This expansion, targeting the Automotive Specialized Terminal on Isla de la Palma, will support the increasing demand for Asian automobile imports into Mexico. The project involves acquiring 108,000m2 of land to construct new vehicle storage yards, increasing capacity by over 5,000 vehicles.
CPKC to Expand Wylie Rail Yard to Enhance Automotive Logistics
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is set to enhance its automotive logistics capabilities with a new 12ha finished vehicle compound in Wylie, Texas, scheduled to open by the end of June. This facility is part of CPKC's US$275 million investment in the key corridor between Chicago, Illinois, and Laredo, Texas.
DSV, Integrated 3PL Forge Border Logistics Partnership
Integrated 3PL, a Grupo Bustamante company, and DSV have formed a strategic partnership to streamline logistics operations across the Mexico-US border, starting operations in Tijuana, Baja California, in June 2024.
