This week, agreements reached between CANACAR and ASIPONA Veracruz spell better truck driver conditions. Furthermore, President López Obrador shared the advances reached during his administration in transport infrastructure with the construction of passenger train lines, as well as the advances reached in terms of highway safety.

CANACAR, ASIPONA Veracruz Meet to Tackle Truck Drivers’ Concerns

In response to recent port congestion at the Veracruz Port due to the reequipping of the Veracruz customs office, a meeting between CANACAR and ASIPONA Veracruz was held to address truck drivers' concerns regarding their waiting hours and better conditions for truckers.

Fifth Presidential Address: Trucking Sector Achievements

As part of his fifth presidential address, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador shared the actions taken to improve highway safety throughout his fifth year in office. This includes the Immediate Alert Line Against Robberies (LAICA), the Safe Highway Program, among others. Other actions also took place to enhance transparency in towing and storage services, as well as providing financial support to small transport companies and owner-operators.

Project Spotlight: López Obrador’s Presidential Address

President López Obrador also discussed progress in terms of mobility with the growth of passenger train lines such as the Mayan Train; the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train, which is set to start operations in Sept. 14 of this year; the Guadalajara Light Rail System Line 4 and a train to be constructed in Nuevo Leon, among other infrastructural projects.

Logistics Thrives in the State of Mexico: Alfredo del Mazo

As he closes his term as Governor of the State of Mexico, Alfredo del Mazo celebrated his Sixth Government Address, in which he mentions that the logistics sector represented 54% of all the investment projects received by the State of Mexico. He also adds that his administration made many investments in infrastructure and public services to enhance the state’s competitiveness, including expanding roads, airports and industrial parks and strengthening telecommunications networks.

World Trade Bridge to Expand Lanes to Cater to Nearshoring

In response to demand brought by nearshoring, the government of Tamaulipas has made the expansion and modernization of the World Trade Bridge a priority. The expansion aims to streamline crossing times and boost growth and trade on both sides of the border by adding more trade lanes to be able to respond to the expected increase in demand.
