KCSM Ratifies Investment Commitment in the Celaya Railway Bypass
Kansas City Southern de México (KCSM), the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) and the government of Guanajuato held a meeting to advance negotiations of the agreement to build the Celaya Railway Bypass. During the meeting, KCSM ratified its commitment with the project and said it is reviewing the agreement, which the company will soon sign with SICT, informed Guanajuato’s Ministry of Sustainable Development (SDES).
Celaya is an economic leader in the Bajio region and an attractive investment destination for international and local shareholders, as reported by MBN. KCSM’s US$140 million investment will build 22 kilometers of roads, boosting the logistics business in the region and strengthening Celaya’s competitiveness.
The government of Guanajuato is committed to boost the Celaya Railway Bypass project, which will be “a trigger for other initiatives to continue growing the regional economy,” said SDES’ Ramón Alfaro Gómez.
