Guanajuato Presents Investment Promotion Committee
In an effort to power competitive advantages in infrastructure, connectivity, and specialized workforce, Guanajuato reaffirmed its commitment to attracting and supporting investment with the installation and swearing-in of the state’s Investment Promotion Committee (CPI), led by Governor Libia Dennise García.
During the event, federal and state authorities also presented Hecho en México (Made in Mexico) certifications to local companies recognized for their quality and innovation.
The committee is part of Plan México and the Portfolio for Shared Prosperity, initiatives promoted by Mexico’s Ministry of Economy to strengthen collaboration between government and business leaders. The CPI aims to provide a formal, reliable space for dialogue to identify investment opportunities, address barriers, and support productive projects nationwide.
The Guanajuato chapter includes representatives from the federal Ministry of Economy, state authorities, and leaders from several industry clusters, including automotive, chemical, aerospace, logistics, fashion, housing, food, information technology, construction, and ceramics, as well as local companies and MSMEs certified under Marca Guanajuato.
Governor García highlighted the state’s readiness to collaborate in the national strategy. “In Guanajuato, we join this initiative with full commitment and a collaborative spirit,” she said. “We are already working on strategic projects such as the Puerta Logística del Bajío in Celaya, which is part of the Hubs for Well-Being and Plan México.” She added that Guanajuato’s participation underscores the state’s determination to strengthen Mexico’s economy through diversification and competitiveness.
“We fully support the federal government’s efforts to create the best business conditions for our country,” García Ledo. “In Guanajuato, we are allies of investment and champions of MSMEs, working to strengthen value chains and improve the quality of life for Guanajuato families.”
During the ceremony, Hecho en México certifications were presented to companies meeting the highest standards of quality, design, and innovation. The program aligns closely with the state’s Marca Guanajuato initiative, helping local businesses boost their competitiveness and expand their market presence.
The event was attended by Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, Minister of Economy of Guanajuato; Carlos Alfonso Candelaria López, Head of the Unit of Foresight, Planning and Evaluation, and General Coordinator, Well-Being Corridors; Salomón Rosas Ramírez, Director General of Competitiveness and Competition; Bárbara Botello Santibáñez, Head of the Hecho en México program; and Samantha Smith Gutiérrez, Mayor of Guanajuato City.
