Australian company WiseTech Global, developer of CargoWise, announced the acquisition of Sistemas Casa, a provider of customs and international trade software solutions in Mexico. The acquisition aims to streamline customs operations and meet the evolving demands of the global trade landscape, especially as Mexico gains relevance as a nearshore manufacturing destination.
Sistemas Casa automates administrative and operational customs processes, allowing importers and exporters to comply with Mexico's intricate customs regulations within their international trade operations. The company is authorized by Mexico’s National Customs Agency to provide pre-validation data services in customs declarations.
Vlad Bilanovsky, Chief Execution Officer, WiseTech Global, says in a press release that the acquisition of Sistemas Casa will enable the company to cover over 70% of global manufactured trade flows.
Bilanovsky also says that the expertise of Sistemas Casa will help WiseTech Global to provide a single system for customs clearance and cross-border compliance, which is expected to provide significant benefits for global freight forwarders and other logistics players.
The acquisition aims to simplify customs processing, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and security for large freight forwarders seeking a unified global customs platform.
The acquisition is highly significant in light of Mexico's role as the largest trading partner of the United States and a nearshoring hub for manufacturing as an alternative to Asia, says Edneia Chebabi, Foothold Business General Manager Americas, WiseTech Global.
WiseTech Global's press release states that Sistemas Casa will continue to deliver its customs solutions directly to their customers and offer other CargoWise solutions over time.
