Housing For Well-Being Assessment. Minister of Agrarian and Urban Land Development Edna Vega presented progress on the Housing for Well-Being Program, reporting 88,279 homes are under construction for people without social security housing benefits and 111,592 homes for those with them. Construction projects have started in 29 states, with Baja California Sur at 40% completion. As of April 2025, the program has contributed to a 1.8% growth in construction employment.

Rodrigo Chavez, Director General, National Commission for Housing (CONAVI), reported that 222 plots of land, totaling 688ha, have been secured for the construction of 90,140 homes under the program.

Jabnely Maldonado, Executive Director, Housing Fund of the Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (FOVISSSTE), detailed that the fund has benefited 149,000 people through credit liquidations, interest cancellation, and payment adjustments. An additional 135,000 accredited people will receive benefits in July 2025, and 116 more in 4Q25. In terms of credits, 10,622 have been granted, equivalent to MX$11.5 billion (US$608 million). The FOVISSSTE for Women program has benefited 1,996 women with a value of MX$2.2billion, and 24,953 mortgages have been canceled.

Octavio Romero, Director General, INFONAVIT, reported that 133,000 mortgages have been canceled for free, a 40% progress mark, with 15 states concentrating most of these actions. He noted that 4,155,000 people have benefited from solutions for unpayable credits. These solutions include interest rate reductions and fixed monthly payments, with new benefits planned for July 2025 and 4Q25.

Regarding problematic housing, Romero stated that 843,000 Infonavit homes with various issues have been identified. As of June 13, 2024, 168,000 of these have been surveyed. The survey found 145,000 homes are inhabited irregularly, and these residents will be offered a rent-to-own plan. The remaining 23,000 uninhabited or vandalized homes will be rehabilitated and put up for sale.

Repatriation of Over 50,000 Mexicans. Deputy Minister of the Interior Felix Medina reported that 56,398 Mexicans were repatriated from the United States between January 20 and June 16, 2025.

This repatriation is managed under the Mexico Te Abraza (Mexico Embraces You) National Repatriation Strategy. As part of this program, 10 reception centers have been installed in Baja California, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, and Tamaulipas. Of the total people received, 12,183 arrived by air at AIFA, Villahermosa, and Tapachula airports, where they were offered support from the inter-agency program. Medina Padilla also noted that 20,033 people chose not to go to the reception centers upon their return.
