Grupo Coppel has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, showcasing significant advances in financial inclusion, renewable energy, education, and corporate governance. Over the past year, more than 690,000 people accessed a financial product or service for the first time.

On the environmental front, 710 properties—representing 40% of Coppel’s stores—are now equipped with solar panels, a 16% increase from the previous year. Additionally, 99% of stores feature LED lighting, and one in three uses energy-efficient air conditioning with Inverter technology. These initiatives, combined with a shift toward increased rail transport use, have helped prevent over 51,000 tons of CO₂e emissions.

In education and social development, Grupo Coppel awarded 20,000 scholarships to employees and their families and provided 2.5 million hours of training through its Corporate University. Fundación Coppel supported more than 5 million people through partnerships with 232 organizations focused on education, social development, and emergency response.

In governance, over 4,900 suppliers were evaluated under ethical and sustainability standards. These efforts helped Coppel and BanCoppel secure the top position in the IC500 Corporate Integrity ranking.

“Each step counts. At Grupo Coppel, we understand sustainability as doing things better every day,” said Susana Coppel, Sustainability Director and President, Fundación Coppel. She emphasized that the company aims to create shared value with suppliers and partners while minimizing its environmental impact through responsible business practices.
