The third edition of the SoS Sostenible Expo Concierto opened this week, aiming to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices by strengthening connections between the private sector and the public. Organized annually by the Cool Planet Association in Boca del Rio, Veracruz, the event has been held for three consecutive years.

Luis Enrique Aguilar Álvarez, president of the association, said the initiative seeks to communicate practical actions that businesses and citizens can take to support sustainability. “The main purpose is to promote sustainability and social responsibility in the business sector while fostering a connection between corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship,” he said at the event’s launch.

Aguilar Álvarez highlighted Veracruz’s recent progress, with multiple industries integrating processes that support sustainable growth. He added that achieving long-term goals will depend on sector-specific circumstances and regulatory frameworks but stressed that success is possible through commitment, regulation, and circular economy strategies.

He concluded by noting that the industrial and educational sectors have been among the most engaged in advancing sustainability initiatives in the state.
