According to the analyst firm IDC, 45% of companies in Mexico are already applying automation to improve the customer experience, through communication and customer interaction channels, as well as to increase the transparency and efficiency of their organization, optimizing the supply chain, regulatory compliance, procurement processes and risk management. At the same time, automation also helps organizations with human resource management, specifically to speed up the onboarding of new employees and optimally manage working hours[1]. It is also important to note that organizations in Mexico have shown positive progress. Nearly 80% have some form of automation and just over 50% have fully automated processes, especially in industries such as finance and supply chain.

However, one thing that is happening is that companies now have several islands of automation, with the problem of being disconnected from each other. In other words, despite prioritizing automation efforts, many IT leaders find that they have failed to achieve  broader, more comprehensive, and more efficient digital process automation (DPA). The question is: What is the best way from there?

AI and Its Revolutionary Scope With DPA

As in all industries, artificial intelligence seems to be shaking things up for digital process automation (DPA). For example, AI-powered DPA already performs complex business tasks, such as converting a PDF into a digital interface or sorting all emails into an inbox and generating responses for an employee to review.

Looking to the near future, at Appian we are confident that the scope of AI will go much further, which of course has an extremely positive connotation, but also requires an innovative approach from developers and professionals. It is important to always keep in mind that we are in an era of great challenges and impressive changes.

Currently, the challenges that companies face to be more agile, efficient, and resilient are focused on digital transformation, AI, and cybersecurity. The success of process automation in any sector and size of company lies in its integration with precisely these three elements: AI, cloud, and advanced security.

In this sense, AI allows processes such as document classification or automatic responses to be easily incorporated into the workflow; the cloud makes solutions accessible from any device, facilitating hybrid work and advanced security. Appian offers advanced security solutions across multiple layers and capabilities, including DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack protection, data loss prevention, strong authentication and authorization, data encryption, and a role-based security model. These solutions include cloud security with layered architecture to isolate customer data and compliance with industry standards.

The automation of processes through low-code platforms (technology that allows the development of applications with little or no programming knowledge) has become a key tool to achieve this goal. Integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotic process automation (RPA), process mining, and case management, Appian provides a platform that enables leaders to design, automate, and optimize critical business processes from start to finish, using language that simplifies business process automation for the world’s most innovative companies and government entities.

However, as generative AI grows in popularity and companies are rushing to adopt recent technology in a scalable and compliant way, it can be difficult to know the right path forward. Your company has already invested in process automation to free up resources and improve organizational efficiency, but is it enough?

This is where intelligent process automation comes into play. With the addition of AI to process automation, horizons are broadened, enabling a path to much greater efficiency and more compliant checks and balances within human processes.

Nowadays, with technology, the environment moves fast and changes all the time. That is part of the company's history, always willing to change and do things in a unique way. Appian does not just offer a low-code platform for developing applications: its strength lies in its ability to transform complex processes into simple and efficient digital solutions. Compared to other vendors, their differential value is in the total orchestration of the process, from modeling to execution, with complete intelligence and visibility.

For Mexican companies looking to accelerate their digital transformation without losing control or security, Appian represents a high-value strategic option.

All these years of having an innovative presence in the IT industry, having advanced technology, and achieving high rates of efficiency and agility, have made the company a benchmark for digital transformation in Latin America and the world.

As a process company, Appian offers a software platform that helps organizations optimize their processes, reducing costs, improving customer experience, and gaining a strategic advantage. Committed to customer success, we serve many of the world's largest organizations across all industries.

In a nutshell, embarking on the journey to integrate AI into your business processes requires a thoughtful and measured approach. By understanding business data, prioritizing quality, adopting a phase-out strategy, complementing existing technology, embracing the possibility of failure as a learning opportunity, and rigorously measuring results, organizations can navigate the complexities of AI adoption and truly capitalize on its transformative potential.
