HDI has announced the reinstatement of insurance coverage for vehicles from Chinese automakers in Mexico, after a temporary suspension was implemented due to concerns about vehicle quality, warranty issues, and challenges in securing parts for repairs.
This suspension was initially reported by MBN, following numerous complaints filed with Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO), mainly regarding warranty rejections and product defects from brands like Geely, Bestune, and Chirey.
Beginning in January 2025, HDI Seguros will offer improved coverage options for vehicles of various origins, including Chinese brands. These updated policies are designed to address the issues that led to the suspension, offering benefits such as a substitute vehicle for up to 30 days in case of a claim, coverage for transportation costs during total loss claims, and zero deductibles for both partial and total loss material damage.
