Amazon Mexico announced record-breaking results from the ninth edition of Prime Day, with Prime members saving a total of MX$1.64 billion during the seven-day event, the longest held in the country to date.

Running from July 9 to 15, Prime Day 2025 offered discounts of up to 60% across a wide range of products. The extended duration resulted in average daily savings of MX$234 million, or approximately MX$10 million per hour, according to the company. Amazon called it one of the most significant shopping events of the year for Prime members in Mexico.

The highest sales volume was recorded on July 15. Top-selling categories included electronics, beauty, skincare, home goods, and nutritional supplements. Mobile commerce was a major driver, with 93% of purchases made via the Amazon app.

Bank cards were the most frequently used payment method, followed by interest-free installment plans and biweekly payments through fintech provider Kueski. While most sales were concentrated in Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Nuevo Leon, and Jalisco, other states, including Queretaro, Guanajuato, Puebla, Baja California, and Yucatan, also experienced notable increases in transaction volume.

Among the most popular items were electronics and beauty products. Amazon reported sales of over 3.3 million Pokémon cards, more than 42,000 bottles of L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil, and enough smart bulbs to light up several major stadiums.

Pedro Huerta, country manager, Amazon Mexico, expressed gratitude to customers and highlighted the company’s continued focus on service. “This event reaffirms our commitment to providing a great shopping experience through a wide selection of over 600 million items, competitive pricing, year-round deals, and the convenience of multiple payment and delivery options,” Huerta said in a statement.
