CONUEE and INEEL Sign Deal to Boost Energy Efficiency in Mexico
The National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE) and the National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energy (INEEL) have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening energy efficiency and advancing the sustainable use of energy in Mexico.
The signing ceremony took place at INEEL’s headquarters in Cuernavaca, Morelos, and was led by CONUEE Director General Israel Jáuregui and INEEL Director General Víctor Salcido. Both officials emphasized that the agreement formalizes joint efforts to develop strategic projects, training programs, and technical capacity-building initiatives that support the country’s energy transition.
Under the agreement, CONUEE and INEEL will establish joint working groups to design methodologies and technical tools, share information, and organize workshops, courses, and training events. The collaboration also includes the promotion of knowledge networks focused on efficient energy management in key sectors of the Mexican economy.
Officials highlighted that the partnership will allow INEEL to expand the services it provides to both public and private companies, while Conuee will be able to access national and international programs supporting energy efficiency and sustainability. Together, the institutions aim to build synergies with academic, public, and private organizations to reinforce Mexico’s role in global clean energy efforts.
The agreement also supports the broader energy policy led by the Ministry of Energy (SENER), which seeks to accelerate the adoption of efficiency measures and reduce energy intensity across industries.
The event was attended by senior officials from both CONUEE and INEEL, including specialists in legal affairs, mechanical and electrical systems, alternative energies, and strategic planning, reflecting the multi-disciplinary scope of the initiative.
