Amid the nearshoring boom, UPS is bolstering its market position with new solutions for the Mexico-US market, introducing new options for cross-border shipping. These solutions aim to make UPS the prime choice for companies aiming to streamline their supply chains and cut costs.

Trade between Mexico and the United States surged to a historic high by the end of November 2023, reaching US$39.8 billion, solidifying Mexico as the primary supplier of goods to its northern neighbor, according to figures from the United States Bureau of Statistics.

UPS has developed new solutions to meet the demand of businesses relocating their production, which need a cost-effective option for last-mile deliveries. As they relocate,  companies are restructuring their supply chains to trim costs and mitigate risks while adapting to the evolving customer needs.

"We are revolutionizing the nearshoring market between Mexico and the United States with our innovations and solutions, assisting in connecting businesses with operations in Mexico to opportunities in the United States and beyond. In this market, it is about having control over the customer experience journey, and UPS is leading the way," says Erika Ceciliano, Director of Operations and Customs, UPS Mexico.

UPS Mexico recently increased its air capacity for exports from certain key regions, increasing its capacity in Queretaro by 100%, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, by 35%, and in Tijuana, Baja California, 60%. This augmented air capacity offering, combined with the expansion of its cross-border solution portfolio, provides unique services for companies seeking cost-effective and innovative logistics solutions.

With the new integrated solutions that combine its resources, ample capacity, and the involvement of key players with reliable supply chain solutions, UPS is providing a comprehensive Mexico-US solution.
