BlackRock-TiL Acquires CK Hutchison’s Global Port Assets
The BlackRock-TiL Consortium is acquiring CK Hutchison’s global port assets for US$22.8 billion, including 43 ports in 23 countries and a 90% stake in Panama Ports Company. The deal, excluding Chinese ports, is pending regulatory approvals and is set to finalize by April 2, 2025. CK Hutchison expects over US$19 billion in cash proceeds.

SICT Launches Nationwide Vehicle Marking Initiative to Enhance Road Safety
The SICT aims to mark and register 1.8 million motor vehicles and trailers operating on federal highways to enhance road safety. The transport sector has until May 8 to comply with the regulation published in the Official Gazette. The markings must be highly visible for electronic surveillance to aid rapid identification in emergencies through the National Guard’s Balam initiative.
