Grupo Salinas Case. President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding tax credits challenged by Grupo Salinas companies, which involved litigation lasting over 15 years. She clarified that these cases concern older tax years, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2013, before the start of the Fourth Transformation.

She explained that the cases went through administrative authorities, the Federal Administrative Justice Tribunal, and collegiate courts, all of which confirmed the legality of the tax credits. Ultimately, the Court ruled that the appeals could only be admitted if they raised constitutional or human rights issues. In four cases, the Court found no such relevance, and in three others, the appeals should not have been accepted, as they had already been resolved in previous instances.

“It is not that the Court suddenly makes a decision without any precedent. These appeals first went through the administrative authority, then the Federal Administrative Justice Tribunal, and finally the collegiate courts, all of which upheld the legality of the tax credits.”

Tourism in Tulum. Tourism Minister Josefina Rodríguez presented updates on tourism in Tulum, Quintana Roo, highlighting the opening of new access points to Jaguar Park as part of a broader strategy to enhance infrastructure and sustainability. Rodríguez noted positive indicators for both domestic and international tourism: tourist spending rose 10.6%, cruise traffic increased 11.6%, and national flight passengers grew 3%, while international flights grew 1.4%. Asian tourism rose 10.7%, with Chinese and Korean visitors up 11.4%, and Italian tourists increasing 14.8%.

“Today we opened the two main access points to Jaguar Park, long requested by the destination, and for the first time, two new public entrances have been opened in the Tulum hotel zone… everyone can enjoy the park, exercise, and visit the beaches every day,” Rodríguez said.

Pavement trains in the State of Mexico. Jesús Esteva, Minister of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport, announced the launch of pavement trains in the State of Mexico, part of a national program to maintain roads and improve mobility.

Each train includes specialized machinery, including milling machines, steel rollers, pavement spreaders, and pneumatic compactors, while 150 people, 15 per municipality, have been trained for operations. Training began in June and will conclude in December.
