Trafficking of Military Firearms Into Mexico. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alicia Bárcena, reported that during the latest security cabinet meeting in Washington, the Ministry of Defense alerted the detection of trafficking of firearms exclusive to the United States army into Mexico. An investigation will be conducted as a result.

This complaint is part of the 10 agreements reached with US authorities in the meeting, which prioritized addressing migration from Latin America to the northern Mexican border. The agreements include aligning migration figures in a joint panel with weekly updates, holding a trilateral meeting that includes Guatemala, collaborating bilaterally and regionally to combat human trafficking networks, monitoring the actions of the Texas government, while Mexico strengthens its consular network in that state.

Furthermore, in response to the US announcement of sanctions on companies in South America for transporting migrants, Mexico announced meetings with companies in the country.

Bárcena reiterated that a joint visit to the Darien Strait will be made with Panamanian and Colombian authorities to discuss human trafficking.

Mexican and US authorities will hold regular meetings to address bilateral issues, with the next one expected to take place in February.

The agreement aims to provide maintenance and construct necessary infrastructure to ensure the supply of water to the state's population.

"We are going to sign an agreement in which Conagua commits to providing technical assistance for the planned actions. We will grant concession titles for the El Pantano dam. Concessions will be requested, and we applaud the State Water Commission and Queretaro for building and maintaining water treatment plants and constructing the necessary infrastructure," he explained.
